October's Special Feature Artist
is:

Fara Shimbo has many projects growing all at at once!
She raises and writes about ferrets, rescues heritage roses from thewild,
creates incredible miniature urban-scapes, and as a master ceramicist and
crystalliere she creates surface finishes in which the crystals are actually
grown in the glaze before firing.
Not all of her work is on a cellular sized scale--sometimes she
takes on REALLY BIG projects like this sprawling vision of "Brooklyn
in a Blender", a miniature masterpiece that is an awesome urban
recreation in a tiny size..
Here's a peek at progress:
Fa has been hard at work all year long creating a miniature
vision of Broolyn that will be featured in our Very Special Christmas Windows
at Bead Lounge throughout November and December.
Be sure to come and see this amazing assemblage in all
its quirky glory.
Fa's attention to the details has to be seen to be believed!
She is also is an avid collector of roses. Those seen on the left are
from her garden in Colorado, and she's made the ones on the right using
polymer clay!
