Artist of the Month for February 2007 is:

Lampworked Glass beads combine color and light and create
an alchemical art--sand and other minerals are transformed through fire
into beautiful beads.
Glass beads have been sought after for centuries by many different cultures
in far flung lands.

Techniques for creating colors and patterns have been handed down through
generations of artists and new ones have been worked out.
Phyllis Kenyon has been working at her torch for five years. Her eye
for color combinations and steady hand allow her to create gorgeous sets
of color coordinated lampworked beads.
Her work is highly sought after by collectors and by bead stringers who
just love the beads and use them to create one of a kind jewelry.
